This existing building in the center of Dornbirn's Oberdorf dates back to the 19th century and was once a representative residential building. Additions later gave the listed building a tower, which was intended to sustainably underline the stately character of the building. Rented out again and again, the house lost its shine over the decades until it finally became worn out and needed to be renovated.

The challenge was to restore the house to its original appearance. Remaining stucco was restored, sandstone benches were carved out, the tower roof was re-covered with slate and some of the shutters had to be replaced. Through a new layout, seven modern rental apartments were created within the former stately house. Furthermore, the building was connected to the heating system of the Oberdorf Magazine, that is supplying offices and residential buildings in this area with energy.
